Jakarta explores water technology and economic cooperation with China
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is exploring technological cooperation with Shenzhen Water Group in China to enhance urban water management efficiency. The discussions focus on adopting advanced technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), to implement smart water management systems.
Key objectives of this potential partnership include improving water distribution efficiency and reducing non-revenue water (NRW) losses. This initiative aligns with Jakarta's digital transformation goals to create a more resilient and sustainable urban environment.
In addition to water infrastructure, Jakarta and Guangdong Province are discussing broader economic cooperation. These talks aim to strengthen trade, business development, and the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and mutual investment opportunities.
