Jakarta Governor launches coffee event and approves education subsidies

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced several key initiatives for the city, including the opening of Coffee Event 2026 and the distribution of education subsidies.

At the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) Senayan, the Governor officially opened Coffee Event 2026. He highlighted the coffee industry as a vital driver for Jakarta’s creative economy and small and medium enterprises (UMKM). The event features product exhibitions, national barista competitions, and business matching sessions intended to strengthen the branding of Indonesian coffee in both domestic and international markets.

Additionally, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has designated 661,209 students as recipients of the Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) Plus social assistance for the second phase, first wave of September 2026. The total budget allocated for this educational aid is approximately Rp1.5 trillion. This group includes 491,566 continuing recipients and 169,643 new recipients who have met the necessary verification criteria.
