Jakarta Governor targets overall championship at 2027 Fornas

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has set a target for the Jakarta Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) to achieve the overall championship at the ninth National Community Recreational Sports Festival (Fornas) IX. The event is scheduled to take place in Central Sulawesi in 2027.

Speaking at the opening of the 2026 Jakarta People's Sports Festival, the Governor emphasized that this goal aligns with Jakarta's current performance in other sectors, noting the city's 5.52 percent economic growth and leading national investment status. KORMI officials stated that Fornas serves as a priority to increase public participation in sports, preserve traditional Indonesian sports, and stimulate local economies through recreational activities.
