Jakarta hosts new APCQP headquarters as Majelis Muslim Papua holds regional meeting

In Jakarta, the Asia Pacific Coalition for Quds and Palestine (APCQP) has officially opened its headquarters in the Matraman area. The office serves as a coordination center for humanitarian solidarity across the Asia-Pacific region, following a resolution from a 2025 conference. APCQP President Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim stated the headquarters will strengthen advocacy, literacy, and the Sumud Flotilla movement, aiming to build lasting 'people to people' connections between Asia-Pacific communities and the people of Gaza. The facility is also intended to function as a mini museum to document the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.

Simultaneously, in Southwest Papua, the first regional meeting (Musda I) of the Majelis Muslim Papua (MPP) coordination body was held at the IAIN Sorong Hall. Suparto Iribaram, a member of the MPP Central Executive Board and Rector of IAIN Sorong, emphasized the organization's role in addressing social, economic, and educational issues. The meeting focused on organizational consolidation, local economic development, and promoting religious harmony and peace within the Papua region.
