Jakarta launches mobile tax office and offers seized motorcycles free to owners
On Thursday, 11 June 2026, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, in cooperation with the regional traffic division, the Jakarta tax office and Jasa Raharja, will operate a mobile vehicle‑tax service (Samsat Keliling) at fourteen locations across Jakarta and the surrounding Jadetabek area. The service handles annual vehicle registration renewal (STNK) and payment of the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) for owners who bring the required documents. It does not cover five‑year registration renewals, plate changes or physical vehicle inspections, which must be done at a main Samsat office.
Separately, the Polda Metro Jaya announced the free return of seized motor vehicles to their lawful owners. Police recovered 156 vehicles in recent theft investigations and are now handing over 22 motorcycles and four cars to the victims at police stations. "Warga yang kendaraannya teridentifikasi dapat langsung mengambilnya di Polda Metro Jaya atau Satreskrim Polres setempat," said Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, head of the criminal investigation directorate.
