Jakarta officials demolish illegal structures in Kalideres

Joint task force officials demolished nine illegal structures in the Kalideres district of West Jakarta on Thursday. The operation targeted two semi-permanent buildings and seven vehicle parking stalls occupying 3,700 square meters of land owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government on Jalan Permata Taman Palem, Pegadungan.

Approximately 50 personnel participated in the enforcement, including members of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Transportation Department, the Environmental Department, Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU), and the TNI-Polri. According to Kalideres Vice Camat Danur Sasono, the action was a follow-up to findings by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) to secure regional assets for their intended use.

Local officials stated that all legal procedures were followed prior to the demolition, including socialization efforts and the issuance of three warning letters. Following the clearing of the site, authorities plan to request the Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) to fence the area to prevent future illegal occupation.
