Indonesia police dismantle international and local drug networks

Indonesian police have conducted a series of major narcotics operations across several regions, uncovering both local distributors and an international trafficking network.

In South Sulawesi, Polrestabes Makassar dismantled the ‘Jocker Malaysia’ international network. The operation resulted in the seizure of 9 kilograms of methamphetamine and over 10,000 ecstasy tablets. The network distributed drugs from Medan through Jakarta and Surabaya to Makassar. Seven suspects were detained, while a major kingpin remains a wanted person in Malaysia.

In Jakarta, law enforcement made several significant arrests. In West Jakarta, police seized over 4,000 ecstasy tablets and 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine. In South Jakarta, three individuals were arrested for selling illegal drugs disguised as mobile phone credit counters, grocery stores, and mineral water vendors. Additionally, a major drug dealer wanted in Tanah Abang was apprehended following a previous investigation involving hundreds of thousands of illegal pills.

Other regional operations included the arrest of twin brothers in Bangkalan, East Java, for distributing methamphetamine, and the seizure of 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine in Musi Banyuasin. These coordinated efforts highlight ongoing law enforcement actions against diverse drug distribution methods, ranging from sea-based courier services to online sales and physical storefront disguises.
