Jakarta Police Tighten Security After Corruption Raids

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has intensified security measures following a series of raids on twelve locations linked to alleged corruption involving money‑laundering, a coal mining case and the Asabri pension fund. Armed Brimob units equipped with long‑barrel rifles and tactical vehicles have been deployed around the police headquarters, with officers checking the purpose of anyone seeking entry and guarding key entrances.

Police officials said the heightened security is intended to protect seized evidence and ensure the safety of witnesses as investigations continue into the high‑profile cases.
