Jakarta rolls out mobile driver’s license renewal service and offers free access to attractions for its 499th birthday

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Traffic Directorate opened a mobile driver’s license (SIM) renewal service on Tuesday, operating from 08:00 to 14:00 at six locations across the city: Grand Cakung Mall (East Jakarta), LTC Glodok lobby (North Jakarta), Universitas Trilogi parking (South Jakarta), Mall Ciputra lobby (West Jakarta), Post Office parking (Central Jakarta) and the main lobby of the Police Traffic Command (Central Jakarta). Applicants must bring their ID, original SIM, a photocopy, a completed form and undergo a health test. The service renews only valid SIM A and SIM C cards, charging Rp80,000 for A and Rp75,000 for C; expired licences must be applied for at the Satpas SIM office in West Jakarta.

Separately, the DKI Jakarta provincial government announced that, to mark the city’s 499th anniversary, admission fees to all municipal museums, parks and major tourist sites—including Ancol, Ragunan, Monas and numerous museums—will be waived on 22, 27 and 28 June 2026. Public‑transport fares on MRT, LRT and Transjakarta will also be free on those dates. The free‑entry policy applies to all Indonesian ID holders, not just Jakarta residents, aiming to attract visitors from across the country.
