Jakarta schools roll out first‑aid demos and child‑friendly reforms during 2026 MPLS

The South Jakarta branch of Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) introduced first‑aid training in 38 schools during the Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (MPLS) period from 15‑17 July 2026. Ambulance demonstrations and basic‑life‑support instruction were provided to students, with PMI aiming to raise early awareness of emergency response and to encourage enrollment in the Palang Merah Remaja youth program.

Senator Fahira Idris highlighted that MPLS 2026 seeks to make school introductions safer, more inclusive and child‑centered. He stressed the need to eliminate bullying, excessive fees, irrelevant activities and unauthorized involvement, and called for stronger evaluation, supervision, parental engagement and consistent child‑friendly culture throughout the school year, with plans for further improvements in 2027.
