Jakarta to launch LPDP scholarship program in 2027

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will launch the ‘LPDP Jakarta’ scholarship program starting in 2027. The initiative is designed to fully fund students from Jakarta to pursue higher education at prestigious universities abroad.

Pramono stated that the education sector will remain unaffected by budget efficiency policies within the provincial government. He emphasized that education serves as a primary instrument for improving the living standards of underprivileged communities. While the initial number of recipients may be limited, the governor expressed confidence that studying at top-tier institutions, such as Columbia University, will act as a catalyst for social and economic change within the beneficiaries' families.
