Jakarta traffic lights switched to manual control following Bapenda building fire

A fire at the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) building has disrupted the city's automated traffic management systems. The fire, which reportedly started on the 11th floor and spread to the 16th, impacted the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Command Center and the Traffic Control System (SPLL) operational room.

As a result, the artificial intelligence technology used to automatically regulate traffic lights in Jakarta is temporarily unavailable. Governor Pramono Anung stated that traffic lights at various intersections will be managed manually in the coming days to mitigate congestion. To assist with transportation flow, personnel are being deployed to high-traffic intersections, and a backup Command Center at MT Haryono has been activated.

Regarding the tax system, the Governor confirmed that there is no significant impact on tax data or collection processes, as the Bapenda taxation system is fully digitalized. The building involved in the fire is occupied by approximately 1,000 civil servants.
