Jakarta Villa of Indonesian Prosecutor Seized; Holds 74 kg Gold and $750 bn VND Cash

Indonesian police uncovered a large safe hidden behind a wall panel in a luxury villa in Jakarta. Inside the safe were seven suitcases containing cash worth about 28.5 million USD (roughly 750 billion VND) and 74 kg of gold bars valued at around 14 million USD (about 370 billion VND). The vault was opened after a locksmith cut through the lock in about 15 minutes.

The villa belongs to Febrie Adriansyah, Indonesia’s former chief prosecutor, who stepped down after the discovery. Adriansyah denies wrongdoing and says the assets have another owner, while authorities link him to ongoing investigations into alleged extortion, bribery and money‑laundering. The case involves cooperation with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the embassies of the United States and Singapore. The seized gold has been sent to a state‑owned gold bank for appraisal.
