Jakarta weather modification attempts fail twice

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has reported that two recent attempts at weather modification operations (OMC) to mitigate the dry season have failed. The unsuccessful attempts occurred on Friday and Saturday due to atmospheric conditions that did not support the necessary cloud formation for seeding.

Governor Pramono stated that the presence of adequate clouds is a critical prerequisite for the operation. He noted that while cloud growth was observed on Thursday, particularly in South Jakarta, the specific conditions required for successful seeding were not met. The provincial government, through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD DKI) and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), will continue to monitor the atmosphere and attempt the operation again once suitable clouds form.
