Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute to expand services to Comoros

The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) is looking to expand its specialized cardiac diagnostic and treatment services into Comoros. This move follows a successful medical camp held on Anjouan island in October, which highlighted a significant demand for heart care in the region.

Tanzanian Ambassador to Comoros, Dr. Salim Hamad, reported that local leadership in Anjouan has requested a formal agreement to facilitate ongoing medical camps. Dr. Peter Kisenge, the Executive Director of JKCI, stated that the institute is developing a strategy to promote its services within Comoros to help citizens access specialized care without traveling long distances.

This expansion is expected to strengthen healthcare cooperation and bilateral relations between Tanzania and Comoros while increasing the reach of Tanzanian medical expertise abroad.
