Jake Burger nominated for Roberto Clemente Award
Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger has been named the team’s nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award. The honor is presented annually to a Major League Baseball player who demonstrates exemplary humanitarian work off the field.
Burger’s nomination stems from his advocacy for Down syndrome awareness. Alongside his wife, Ashlyn, he utilizes the Burger Family Foundation to raise funds and awareness, using the slogan ‘Down Syndrome is cool’. His efforts include partnering with the Rangers for a Down syndrome day at Globe Life Field and developing ‘The Lucky Ranch’, a therapeutic environment designed for children living with Down syndrome.
