Jake Fraser-McGurk sets record for fastest fifty by Australian batter

Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk set a new record for the fastest fifty by an Australian batter in an official cricket match during a One-Day Cup fixture against Queensland in Adelaide. Playing for South Australia, the 24-year-old reached his 50-run mark in just 14 balls.

Fraser-McGurk finished his innings with 122 runs from 63 deliveries, including 10 fours and nine sixes. His performance, alongside a century from captain Nathan McSweeney (106 from 103 balls), propelled South Australia to a total of 397/7.

While Fraser-McGurk broke the previous Australian record held by Daniel Christian, he did not surpass the global List A record of 11 balls held by India’s Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. His 14-ball half-century currently ranks as the joint fourth-fastest in List A cricket history.
