Jake Hager criticizes AEW leadership and rules out return

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jake Hager has expressed that a return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is currently unlikely. While Hager spoke positively about his time with the Inner Circle and his collaboration with Chris Jericho, he leveled sharp criticism against AEW President Tony Khan. Hager cited issues with internal political structures, short-term planning for weekly television, and personal friction with Khan, stating he does not view Khan as an “anständigen Menschen” (decent person) based on his experiences.

Following his departure from AEW in 2024, Hager has transitioned to Power Slap. His recent performance in the promotion included a knockout loss against Mahabali Shera. Shera, in a recent interview, suggested that other heavyweights such as AEW’s Satnam Singh and WWE’s Otis would be strong additions to the Power Slap roster.
