Jake Kelley wins MasterChef Season 16

Jake Kelley has been crowned the winner of MasterChef Season 16. Representing the Americas in the ‘Global Gauntlet’ finale, the Alma, Michigan, native secured the title and a $250,000 prize.

Kelley competed against finalists Heidi Muston and Peter Egede. During the final rounds, Kelley prepared a dish inspired by Mexican cuisine, featuring pan-roasted duck breast with mole poblano, Mexican red rice, truffles, and cilantro lime sauce. Despite critiques regarding the timing of his rice, the judges—Gordon Ramsay, Tiffany Derry, and Joe Bastianich—selected him as the champion.

Reflecting on the victory, Kelley noted that the pressure of the finale required a fresh performance regardless of previous successes in the competition.
