Jake Maikkula receives encouraging injury update for Oklahoma

Oklahoma Sooners center Jake Maikkula has been diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL) following a knee injury sustained during a scrimmage on Saturday. While the injury initially caused concern that his season might be over, MRI results indicate he is expected to be sidelined for approximately four to six weeks.

Maikkula, a fifth-year senior who transferred from Stanford, is a key component of the Sooners' offensive line. Depending on his recovery timeline, he may return in time for the matchup against Michigan on September 12, or potentially for games against Georgia on September 26 and Texas on October 10.
