Jake Rogers breaks 122-year MLB record playing for four teams in 21 days

MLB catcher Jake Rogers has set a new Major League Baseball record by playing for four different teams within a 21-day period. This feat surpasses the previous record held by Frank Huelsman, who played for four teams over 42 days in 1904.

The rapid series of transactions began on July 30, when the Detroit Tigers designated Rogers for assignment. Following his departure from Detroit, where he had spent nine years, Rogers appeared in games for the Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox before being claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox.

Rogers recently made his debut for the White Sox in a series against his former team, the Tigers, at Comerica Park. Describing the recent period as a “whirlwind,” Rogers noted the unusual nature of his frequent movement between organizations.
