Jake Stringer meets with Essendon regarding potential return

AFL veteran Jake Stringer has met with Essendon as the club considers a potential return for the former goalkicker. Stringer, 32, was recently released by the Giants despite being their leading goalscorer last season with 48 goals.

Stringer met with Essendon's new coach, Mark McVeigh, on Sunday morning. The two share a family connection, as Stringer is married to McVeigh’s cousin. While Stringer’s camp is hopeful of securing a spot on a list, Essendon currently has other higher priorities to address.

Stringer previously spent seven seasons at Essendon, where he was a three-time leading goalkicker. Although he is interested in continuing his professional career, he has indicated he is prepared to pursue coaching or other opportunities if he does not secure a new AFL contract.
