Jake Stringer to depart GWS Giants for Victorian club in 2027
AFL forward Jake Stringer has announced that his upcoming game against Adelaide will likely be his final match for the Greater Western Sydney Giants. The 32-year-old expressed a desire to return to Melbourne to play for a Victorian club in 2027.
Stringer cited family reasons for the move, noting that his father has been unwell throughout the year and that being away from his two daughters in Melbourne has been challenging. While he has not yet officially decided on a specific club, he indicated he feels he has several years of football remaining.
Stringer has played 37 games for the Giants since joining from Essendon. The upcoming weekend clash against the Crows will mark his 250th game at the AFL level.
