Jakeb Boxell wins first USAC Midget National Championship feature at Eldora
Jakeb Boxell secured his first career USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship feature victory during the 44th running of the 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Boxell, a 20-year-old native of Zanesville, Indiana, led all 25 laps of a caution-free race to claim the $15,000 winner’s share. Driving the red number 54 car for 4 Kings Racing, Boxell became the first driver to win his first USAC National Midget main event during the 4-Crown Nationals since Danny Stratton in 2005.
The victory marks a full-circle moment for Boxell, who achieved his first kart win at the Eldora property’s Little E track in 2011. He was supported by his longtime mentor, Matt Westfall, who served as his crew chief for the win.
