Jakšić opens new Cultural-Interpretive Center in renovated school
The Cultural-Interpretive Center has officially opened in Jakšić, marking the completion of a major reconstruction project that transformed a former school building into a modern community hub. The facility is designed to preserve and promote the cultural, historical, and traditional heritage of the Jakšić region.
The project was implemented through the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITU) mechanism of the Požega Urban Area and was largely funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The total value of the project exceeds 1 million euros, with approximately 818,519 euros secured through non-refundable grants, covering 77 percent of the costs.
The renovated building offers nearly 500 square meters of usable space, including offices, two conference halls, and areas for local associations and cultural events. Future phases of the project include the procurement of modular stages and sound equipment to facilitate outdoor concerts, festivals, and other public gatherings.
