Jakob Johnson joins RTL Deutschland as NFL expert

Jakob Johnson, the first German football professional to reach the NFL via the International Player Pathway Program, has joined RTL Deutschland as an NFL expert. The 31-year-old former fullback will serve as both a sideline reporter from US stadiums and an analyst from the network's Cologne studio.

Johnson's career included seven seasons in the NFL, playing for teams such as the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, and most recently, the Houston Texans. He will make his broadcasting debut on October 4 during the game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs.

While transitioning to media, Johnson stated that he has not officially retired from professional football. He intends to remain fit and keep the possibility of returning to the league open.
