Jakob Nielsen translation error sparks controversy after Panathinaikos loss
Following Panathinaikos' 1-0 defeat to Olympiacos in the Stoiximan Super League, a significant discrepancy has emerged between the words spoken by coach Jakob Nielsen and his official Greek translation.
In his original remarks, Nielsen admitted that Panathinaikos played below their potential and conceded that Olympiacos was the better team on the pitch, stating, “I think we deserved to lose... I believe we were the second-best team on the field. I must admit that.”
However, the translator presented a different version to the media, claiming Nielsen believed his team was the best on the pitch and that they did not deserve to lose. The mismatch has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and commentary.
