Ja’Kobi Jackson emerges as key running back for Ohio State
Ja’Kobi Jackson, a transfer from Florida, has emerged as a key contributor for the seventh-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Initially projected to be third on the depth chart, Jackson currently ranks second on the team in both carries (21) and rushing yards (150) after three games.
Jackson leads the team in yards per carry with an average of 7.1 and has recorded four touchdown runs. Despite his individual success, the team has faced scrutiny regarding its ground game, as Ohio State currently ranks 79th nationally in rushing yards per game with an average of 158.7.
Jackson, who previously played at Coahoma Community College and Florida, noted that the team is working to improve their execution by focusing on reading blocks and pressing holes during film sessions.
