Jakub Hruška to lead new Brno city coalition
Jakub Hruška, the leader of the KDU-ČSL and STAN coalition, is set to become the first mayor of Brno representing the KDU-ČSL since 1990. Following a decisive election victory, Hruška and his coalition partners have reached a thematic agreement on their governing program, achieving full consensus on all major policy areas.
The coalition intends to formally present its program and establish the new administration by the end of next week. While the programmatic details are finalized, the specific distribution of mayoral portfolios—such as housing, transport, education, sport, and culture—is still being negotiated.
Regarding the composition of the eleven-member Brno City Council, the coalition plans to distribute seats mathematically based on election results. Under this proposal, the KDU-ČSL and STAN alliance would hold five seats, ODS and TOP 09 would hold three, and the Greens, Pirates, and the Za Lužánky movement would each receive one seat.
