Jakub Jíra elected to Czech Radio Council

The Czech Chamber of Deputies has elected influencer and combat sports organizer Jakub Jíra to a six-year term on the Czech Radio Council. Jíra secured 85 votes in a secret ballot, surpassing the minimum requirement of 79 votes. He defeated former council chairman Miroslav Dittrich in the second round of voting.

Jíra, a co-founder of Clash of the Stars and G MMA, is known for moderating a podcast with SPD leader Tomio Okamura. His election follows a previous unsuccessful attempt to join the Czech Television Council earlier this year. The Czech Radio Council is a nine-member body responsible for approving the public broadcaster's budget and appointing its director general.
