Jakub Kamiński sees reduced minutes at Benfica as coach backs Gianluca Prestianni

Benfica coach Marco Silva said that keeping Jakub Kamiński in the starting eleven was a difficult decision and that no player has a guaranteed place. After the Polish forward helped the team with an assist in the 5‑0 win over St. Gallen, he was used as a substitute against Scottish side Hearts, entering the match in the 85th minute. Silva highlighted the strong performance of Argentine winger Gianluca Prestianni, who started the game and earned the coach’s confidence.

Benfica, which finished third in the Portuguese league last season, invested €17 million to acquire Kamiński. The club progressed to the next round of the Europa League, winning the two‑leg tie 6‑2 on aggregate. Despite his limited minutes, Kamiński remains part of a squad that scored six goals against Hearts, with other attackers such as Vangelis Pavlidis and Rafa Silva contributing heavily.
