Jakup Krasniqi refuses medical care at The Hague prison

Jakup Krasniqi, the former Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, has refused medical examinations and ongoing healthcare from prison officials at The Hague. His daughter, Gresa Krasniqi, disclosed this decision following a telephone conversation with her father.

According to Gresa Krasniqi, her father expressed profound dissatisfaction with his treatment and the judicial process, stating that he feels his human rights have been denied during his six years in detention. He reportedly told his daughter, “I am here without rights, every human right has been denied to me... therefore I do not need any care from them.”

Gresa Krasniqi expressed significant concern regarding her father's age and health needs, while simultaneously acknowledging his refusal to cooperate with an institution he views as unjust. She described the 25-year prison sentence handed down by the Special Court as an injustice.
