Jaël Bestué finishes seventh in 200m European Athletics final
Spanish sprinter Jaël Bestué finished seventh in the 200-metre final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Bestué recorded a time of 22.69 seconds, missing out on a medal by four-tenths of a second.
British athlete Amy Hunt won the gold medal with a time of 22.19 seconds. Bestué, who previously reached the 200-metre final at the 2024 European Championships in Rome, becomes the first Spanish athlete to reach two European 200-metre finals.
Following her performance, Bestué expressed satisfaction with her effort and her progress toward the podium. Her next scheduled event at the championships is the 4x100-metre relay.
