Amy Hunt wins 100m and 200m gold at European Athletics Championships

British sprinter Amy Hunt has secured a sprint double at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, winning gold in both the women's 100m and 200m events.

After winning the 100m in 11.00 seconds, Hunt completed her double by winning the 200m final with a time of 22.19 seconds. She narrowly defeated Ireland's Rhasidat Adeleke, who took silver in a national record of 22.28 seconds, and Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith, who finished third in 22.29 seconds.

Hunt, a 24-year-old Cambridge University graduate, revealed that she competed despite recent health challenges, including low blood pressure that caused fears of fainting during training. She has expressed an ambition to win four gold medals at this single championship, with the women's 4x100m relay and the mixed 4x100m relay remaining as her next targets.
