Jalen Brewster reaffirms commitment to Texas Tech
Jalen Brewster, the top-ranked defensive lineman in the high school class of 2027, has reaffirmed his commitment to Texas Tech. Brewster, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound prospect from Buford High School in Georgia, announced via a YouTube video that he is shutting down his recruitment to remain with the Red Raiders.
Despite receiving offers from major programs including LSU, Florida, Miami, Indiana, and Ohio State, Brewster stated that Texas Tech is the best place for him to build his own legacy. He initially committed to the program in October 2025. Brewster is considered the No. 1 overall player in his class by both ESPN and Rivals.
His commitment strengthens a highly-rated 2027 recruiting class for Texas Tech, which currently ranks among the top ten nationally according to 247Sports. Brewster joins other notable commits, such as edge rusher Anthony Sweeney, as head coach Joey McGuire continues to build the program following a recent College Football Playoff appearance.
