New York Knicks lead award sweep at 2026 ESPY Awards

The 34th annual ESPY Awards were held on July 15, 2026 at the David H. Koch Theater in New York’s Lincoln Center. The ceremony honored athletes and teams for their performances in the 2025‑26 season.

The New York Knicks were the night’s biggest winners, taking home Best Team and seeing guard Jalen Brunson collect three individual honors – Best Championship Performance, Best Athlete – Men’s Sports and Best NBA Player. Brunson also appeared onstage with his teammates to accept the Best Team award.

Olympic figure‑skating champion Alyssa Liu earned Best Breakthrough Athlete after her comeback that included an Olympic gold medal. Stephen Curry received the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award and delivered a speech urging others to “find your Oakland.” Simone Biles presented the Best Team award to the Knicks, and the late Jason Collins was posthumously honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

Other notable moments included a viral reaction from Mike Tyson when he learned Shohei Ohtani was a man, and a range of red‑carpet fashion highlights featuring Karl‑Anthony Towns, Jordyn Woods, Dwight Howard and others. The event also recognized A’ja Wilson, Jim Abbott, and many other athletes across sports.
