Jalen Duren signs five-year, $200 million deal with Detroit Pistons

Jalen Duren has signed a five-year, $200 million contract to remain with the Detroit Pistons following a lengthy restricted free agency process. The 22-year-old center addressed media on Sunday to clarify his commitment to the franchise and address offseason rumors.

Duren dismissed reports suggesting he felt disrespected during negotiations or intended to test unrestricted free agency. He characterized the negotiations as a learning experience regarding the business side of professional basketball, stating, “I am a Detroit Piston. I want to be a Detroit Piston for life.”

He further noted that much of the offseason speculation was inaccurate, claiming that “everything that was being heard was speculation” and that many reports did not come from him directly. Duren is expected to be a cornerstone of the Pistons' roster alongside players such as Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson.
