Jalen Hurts donates $600,000 for Philadelphia school air conditioning

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Jalen Hurts Foundation have committed $600,000 to install a comprehensive cooling system at Northeast High School in Philadelphia. This donation, described as the foundation’s “largest donation to date,” aims to address severe scheduling disruptions and heat-related issues caused by inadequate HVAC systems at the large school.

The initiative is part of Hurts’ “Keep It Cool” campaign, which has supported the School District of Philadelphia since 2024 by providing air conditioners and allocating $5,000 for every touchdown scored. The donation addresses a broader systemic issue within the district, where more than half of its 218 schools lack adequate cooling, often leading to lost instructional time during heat waves.
