Pittsburgh Steelers activate Jalen Ramsey and Max Iheanachor
The Pittsburgh Steelers received significant injury updates during training camp as cornerback Jalen Ramsey and rookie offensive tackle Max Iheanachor both returned to practice. Ramsey was activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after recovering from a knee injury sustained during mandatory minicamp.
Ramsey’s return comes amid ongoing contract negotiations for teammate Joey Porter Jr. Head coach Mike McCarthy noted that the team and Porter are currently at “an impasse” regarding a contract extension. Ramsey publicly supported Porter, stating, “They need to pay Joey Porter Jr.” and emphasizing his value to the defense.
Additionally, first-round pick Max Iheanachor returned to practice following a two-and-a-half-week absence due to a shoulder and neck injury. Iheanachor, who has been competing for the starting right tackle position, expressed his intention to play in the preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills, depending on how he progresses through upcoming padded practices.
