Los Cerdos gang dismantled in Mexico for kidnapping and extortion

Authorities in the State of Mexico and Hidalgo have dismantled a criminal group known as ‘Los Cerdos’. The gang is accused of engaging in express kidnapping, extortion, and vehicle theft.

Members of the group allegedly used police uniforms and vehicles that simulated official patrol units to intercept victims under the pretext of conducting security inspections. Once stopped, the suspects would threaten victims, steal their belongings, and force them to perform bank transfers. In one reported incident in Axapusco, a member of the group also committed sexual violence against a victim.

Several key members have been detained, including the alleged leader, Juan “N”, also known as ‘El Cerdo’, along with Diego Bladimir “N”, Óscar “N”, and Raúl “N”. The group operated across several municipalities, including Axapusco, Ecatepec, Nopaltepec, San Martín de las Pirámides, and Teotihuacán.
