Jalisco authorities intercept criminal recruitment of minors via fake job offers

Authorities in Jalisco, Mexico, have intercepted multiple attempts by criminal groups to recruit minors through fraudulent job offers.

In the municipality of Tequila, police located a 14-year-old boy in a remote area known as Choluaca. The teenager had traveled to the location after being promised a monthly salary of 30,000 pesos via telephone. Authorities believe the incident was a recruitment attempt for criminal activities. The minor was found in good health and has been placed under the care of state protocols.

In Tlaquepaque, a 17-year-old male was legally processed for alleged human trafficking after attempting to recruit a minor. The suspect was apprehended while giving instructions to a young woman at the Guadalajara Central Bus Station. The victim reported being contacted via social media with vague job details. In a separate incident at the same station, a 16-year-old girl sought help from police after being lured by a TikTok advertisement promising 10,000 to 15,000 pesos weekly in Ocotlán.
