Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Grants 1,206 Permanent Posts to Guadalajara Civil Hospital Staff

The government of Jalisco handed out 1,206 permanent positions (bases) to medical, nursing, administrative and support staff of the three civil hospitals in Guadalajara: the former Hospital Civil ‘Fray Antonio Alcalde’, the new Hospital Civil ‘Dr. Juan I. Menchaca’ and the Hospital Civil de Oriente. The allocations were 639 bases to the former, 461 to the new facility and 106 to the eastern hospital. Governor Pablo Lemus led the ceremony together with officials from the State Health Secretariat, the University of Guadalajara and the Hospital Civil system. Lemus described the action as an act of justice and part of a broader strategy to expand a hospital‑school network that will train personnel for the state's health needs. University rector Karla Planter emphasized the job stability and certainty the basifications provide to workers and their families. Union leader Liliana Guzmán Lara used the event to request further staff growth in line with the hospitals’ expansion, a request Lemus said he would discuss. Lemus pledged to continue delivering permanent appointments each year until the end of his term.
