Jalisco homicide rates decrease, ranking 15th nationally

Jalisco has seen a substantial decrease in intentional homicides between January and July, according to data from the National Security System. Roberto Alarcón Estrada, Coordinator of the local Security Cabinet, reported that the state now ranks fifteenth in the country for homicide incidence, moving out of the top ten most affected entities.

Local authorities attribute this downward trend to coordinated security strategies and operational intelligence involving three levels of government. Governor Pablo Lemus noted that while logistical challenges remain, state and municipal police forces are undergoing continuous evaluation to improve effectiveness and professionalism.
