Jalisco launches grant program and franchise expo to spur business growth
Jalisco, the Mexican state that ranks second nationwide in franchise presence with more than 485 brands and 4,440 points of sale, is promoting further economic expansion. The upcoming Expo Franquicias Guadalajara 2026, scheduled for 27‑28 August, will feature over 150 national and international brands and host conferences on trends, financing, legal issues and growth strategies, reinforcing the region’s role as a leading franchise market.
In parallel, the state’s Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) has opened applications for the “My First Million” program, which will award US$87,000 to the top winner and smaller grants to the next two, supporting 30 high‑potential Jalisco‑based companies. Selected firms will receive a 100‑day strategy, personalized consulting, workshops and networking assistance aimed at boosting exports, commercial capacity and access to financing across sectors such as food, beverages, health, cosmetics and household goods.
