Jalisco launches online state professional license process
The Government of Jalisco has launched a fully online process for obtaining the state professional license (cédula profesional estatal) through the Ventanilla Digital Jalisco platform. This digital transition allows professionals to register, upload documents, make payments, and track their applications entirely online, eliminating the previous requirement to travel to Guadalajara for in-person procedures.
The new system is expected to benefit approximately 20,000 professionals during its first year of operation. It specifically aims to assist residents in regions such as Ciénega—including municipalities like Ocotlán, Poncitlán, Jamay, La Barca, Tototlán, and Atotonilco el Alto—where local offices of the Direction of Professions are not available.
Authorities estimate that this digitalization could save applicants approximately 20 million pesos annually in travel and logistical costs. The initial registration process is reported to take approximately three minutes, after which users must upload digitized documents and await validation and issuance.
