Jalisco mother arrested for attempted rat‑poison poisoning of three children

Authorities in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, detained a woman identified as Fabiola N on suspicion of poisoning her three children with rat poison. According to the state attorney general, the children – two girls and a boy – were given a chocolate‑flavored drink that had been laced with the toxic substance. They were taken to a hospital in San Sebastián el Grande, where they are now reported to be in stable condition and remain under the protection of the state child‑protection agency while investigations continue.

The woman is being investigated for attempted parricide and has been placed at the disposal of a judge. The investigation noted that the rat poison involved is a domestic product containing highly toxic compounds that can cause internal bleeding and multi‑organ failure, especially in children. She remains in custody pending further legal actions.
