Jalisco opens mobility registry for taxi drivers in Puerto Vallarta

The Government of Jalisco has launched a call for taxi drivers in Puerto Vallarta to register and certify their years of experience within the State Mobility and Transport Registry. The initiative specifically targets drivers of site-based taxis and radiotaxis who have more than 10 years of experience but do not currently hold a concession or permit.

Information sessions were held in Puerto Vallarta to explain the requirements and documentation needed to prove seniority. For the Costa Norte and Costa-Sierra Occidental regions, application reception is scheduled for September 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2026, between 10:00 and 15:00.

Once files are reviewed, qualifying drivers will receive a certificate, and results will be published in the Official Gazette of the State of Jalisco. An Inter-institutional Technical Committee may later evaluate these files to determine eligibility for new concessions. The process aims to improve service regulation and provide reliable data for public transport planning in the state.
