Jalisco prosecutors disclose 127 gender‑based crime cases across six municipalities

The public prosecutor's office in Jalisco reported that 127 individuals were linked to criminal proceedings for offenses against women between 15 and 30 June. Most of the cases involve the municipalities of Guadalajara, Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Zapopan, Tonalá and Puerto Vallarta, where 122 investigation files were opened. Of the 112 investigative files classified as family violence, incidents occurred mainly within domestic settings, followed by workplaces and acquaintances. The authority also issued eight arrest orders, 117 judicial summons and applied precautionary measures such as preventive detention and conditional suspension of process.

In a related matter, the trial of Marlon "N" for the femicide of 21‑year‑old engineering student Monserrat Bendimes Roldán is in its final stage. On 7 July 2026 the prosecution and defense presented closing arguments via videoconference. The judge is expected to deliver a verdict within 24 hours, determining the sentence for the accused, who remains incarcerated while the case proceeds.
