Jalisco Prosecutor's Office dismisses Francisco Álvarez's media statements

The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office has stated that recent media interviews given by Francisco Álvarez regarding the femicide of influencer Valeria Márquez hold no legal weight. Prosecutor Salvador González de los Santos clarified that for any statement to have judicial value, it must be formally presented before a judge or the Public Ministry.

Francisco Álvarez, the son of Ramón ‘N’ (alias ‘R1’), recently gave an interview in which he denied being the mastermind behind Márquez's death. He also confirmed a past romantic relationship with the influencer, claiming it ended on good terms in early 2025. Despite his claims of willingness to cooperate, authorities noted that Álvarez has not officially testified within the investigation file and his current whereabouts remain unknown.

The investigation into the death of Valeria Márquez is currently in the evidence-gathering phase. Authorities are working to consolidate interviews and other elements of proof to build the case.
