Jalisco recognizes children for peace-themed comic books
The Government of Jalisco has recognized 20 children for creating comic books focused on peace culture, security, school coexistence, and environmental care. The project, titled “Mi comunidad en historieta construye paz” (My community in comic builds peace), was organized by the Secretariat of Planning and Citizen Participation and involved 862 primary school students from the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and other parts of the state.
Following formative workshops, the selected comic books will be exhibited at the Museo Jalisco Paseo Interactivo (JAPI) until September 13. These works will also serve as the foundation for two upcoming storybooks. Cynthia Cantero, Secretary of Planning and Citizen Participation, emphasized the importance of including children in public processes, stating that their perspectives can provide solutions to contemporary social problems.
